The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Library, Bauchi, was established in 1981 to offer reliable bibliographic support for research purposes. It is known for its open access and library resource database containing journals and e-books from various disciplines such as Agricultural Engineering, Medical Science, Environment Technology, and Management Sciences.
The library is situated within the campus of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and was named after Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria’s first and only Prime Minister. It can accommodate about 1000 readers and contains 161,672 books, 3442 journal titles, and 2,117 serial titles.
The University Library includes sections such as the Collection Development Division for indexing, classification, and acquisition and the largest division — Readers’ Services, for circulation, photocopy, and reference.
While also providing free access to the most recent publications in a variety of subject areas from a wide variety of authors on a digital platform, the library distinguishes itself with the ease students and researchers alike can find relevant information in a matter of seconds.
